Observability costs have been rising since the introduction of microservices, and this trend is accelerating as AI coding and agents generate more and more events, stressing existing systems. In some cases, observing an application costs more than operating it.
Complexity has prevented many organizations from building a cost-effective, end-to-end solution in-house, so they rely on pre-built solutions in the market. OpenTelemetry and Grafana have made significant contributions to democratizing observability by addressing log collection and visualization challenges, but storage costs remain a hard-to-avoid expense.
In this session, we will discuss how VeloDB addresses high storage costs while enabling interoperability with the open ecosystem. This session will also review real-world adoptions of the solution and the values those organizations realized.
